Digital Steganography: A New File Type for 3D Models - Phil Langley
Steganography is really just the beginning and genesis of this method
which Phil has developed to try to compress the information from 3D
image files, not just files of static images, but also changes from one
file to another. Looks promising for a variety of uses, including 3D
image manipulation in strange and unusual ways.

Using Open Source to Teach Critical and Creative Thinking - Brent Patterson
This was a bit of preaching to the choir about why open source is good
and useful, but here is someone out there in a position to introduce
open source graphical software to his college students. He has evidence
that this not only empowers his students to become more creative, but
also encourages them to get involved with the open source community. A
very welcome talk.

Web Sites on a Stick: EPUB and the Web Converge - Liam Quin
Yes, it's coming! Standards are in development by W3C to have ePubs and
other ebooks be part of the expected formats that browsers should be
able to handle.

A Brief History of Lines - Tom Lechner
A comical brief history leading to Tom's own work in designing a
program to create images that resemble engravings, with its own set of
associated tools.

Documentation Liberation Project: One year after - Fridrich Strba, Valek
Filippov
An update on the work on various libraries for importing proprietary
and aging formats, and Fridrich's efforts to become famous, infamous or
both.
