I think we have two options here. Either we generalise the smooth
options and the stepped lines options into one common dialog or you
add a new properties dialog for stepped lines similar to the exisiting
smooth lines dialog. I'm fine with both solutions and I have no
preference for either of the two solutions so you can choose which one
you want to implement.

Yes, our freedesktop lists have no problems with attachments. So if I
understand your attachment correctly you are want to add a list box to
the dialog instead of the check box + two different dialogs depending
on the fact which entry has been selected? If I interpreted it
correctly it sounds good.

Sounds good. Please create the new dialog with glade and I can take
care of the changes in the chart type dialog.
