I'm all in to have only one dialog for table styling. What I dislike with the
current solution is the management on General with properties of
Cell/Border/Text for the selected style (why Formatting?). Thinking of a
hierarchy it has to be
- Style (Academic)
-- Element (First Row)
--- Properties (background color...)
I'm somewhat surprised that TS are hierarchically organized and may derive from
some default. Hopefully this Default does not modify any attribute, similar to
other styles. These checkboxes what attribute should be used are... unusual.
Typical style behavior is to overwrite attributes from the parent but not touch
anything else shown in some Organizer tab. If we follow this idea we need an
extra New Style dialog (which is not bad).
Keeping the proposed workflow I suggest to think about listing the elements in
the vertical tabs and to have all attributes together, either in a scrolled
window or placed in three horizontal tabs.
Cheers,
Heiko
