I wonder if this failure is due to some ConsoleKit induced conflict.
All this is Greek to me (and I ain't Greek) but looking at https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8729 I thought it could be the case.
Lightdm requires ConsoleKit in Fedora but maybe it could use some alternative?
