Modemmanager V1.16.8 Quectel EC21 connection hangs

Hi,

we are experiencing problems when crossing the border from Germany to Austria (or more interesting here from Vodafone Germany to ATM). This is most likely the "out-of-call" error i mentioned before.
Unfortunately i can not provide a log at this time but we will investigate further.
Meaningful logging on an embedded device is a bit painful and we can reproduce this situation once a week at best, so is there anything i should pay special attention to (advanced logging options, checks i should perform when the error occurs, etc.)?
Is there reason to expect an improvement with V1.18?
One way to get out of this is (if i remember correctly):
AT+COPS=0
wait
AT+COPS=2
systemctl restart modemmanager
systemctl restart networkmanager
