Oh my god, after setting
  video.device.unichrome_cpu_save:0
it works again, 1024x768 MPEG2 fullscreen with 0.6 load and xine 15% CPU.

And I spent *days* up- and downgrading all packages, you guys are my
heroes! Keep up the good work, and 1000 thanks.
