[Openchrome-users] TvOut NTSC 1625 No Joy

Xavier,
Thanks for the patch.
The patch does not apply cleanly to current SVN. I tried to hand apply
it, and apparently messed up.
I rolled back to version 293, and it applied cleanly.
The result is that 640x480 NTSC still fails, as expected - since this
patch doesn't change anything about 640x480.
720x480Fit works better than previously. Instead of getting a ghostly
double screen, I get a single screen at the right place on my TV. 720x480
However, it's not usable. The lines/fields are mixed up somehow, so any
vertical line (even a static one) is combed. That is, every other line
is offset by about two pixels from the previous, back and forth.
The screen undergoes a huge lurch about once a second, as well. This may
be my television trying to find a better match for the signal, since it
autosenses PAL/NTSC/etc.
So - a huge improvement. To my eye, it's worth checking in because it's
better than the only other NTSC value, 640x480.
I can send you a photo of the screen, I can send you xorg logs, I can
try other values, if you want to try improving it.
Cheers,
-brianb
