If you are serious about using bluetooth, I'd consider upgrading your
pulse to 0.9.13 which has native bluetooth support and will be the
recommended way of interacting with BT headsets in the future with all
it's auto-detection goodness.
The current git master has some additional fixes I think, but I can't
remember off hand.
My ageing BT headsets have been dusted off and I intend to play with it
myself soon, but I've not done so yet.
