I have only one sound card which is onboard, GNOME Control Center lists
 
only one device and one profile:

***Device***

"Digital Output (S/PDIF) - Built-in Audio"

***Profile***

"Digital Stereo (IEC958)"

while it should be "analog" to work correctly.
