[Uim] Cut/Paste problems with UIM under KDE

Yes, I am using uim-xim... it's what came with Mandrake 10.

I also have problems with the uim-helper applet... If I run it, all it gives 
me is a "?" symbol... and if I toggle between Japanese and English input, 
nothing happens.  But I'm more concerned about the cutting and pasting 
though... that's something I really need to work!
