XDG menu spec: editing

The current KDE implementation of the menu spec has an interesting side
effect, and I was wondering if others have encountered this as well, and how
they handled it. In KDE 3.2 we have a "Lost & Found" menu that collects
non-allocated entries using the <OnlyUnallocated/> tag. Unfortunately the
semantics of the spec are such that when a user now removes an entry from a
menu, it will as a result appear in our "Lost & Found" menu because the entry
is no longer allocated in a menu.

I can think of two workarounds for this problem in our menu editor:
1) When removing an entry, explicitly remove it from our Lost & Found as well.
2) When removing an entry, add it to a hidden menu.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

Cheers,
Waldo
