Thumbnail Managing Standard

Howdy,

I'm new to the list, having just discovered the Thumbnail stuff.

That won't work for me. I've rolled my counter several times, so I
have duplicate file names;
2001-01-23/DSCN1234.jpg
2003-23-21/DSCN1234.jpg

If the md5 is name only,  I'm out of luck. With 35,000 images and only
4 digit file name, each name is used at least 3 times.

The directory the images are in is a required name element.

I suppose I could rename every file, concatonating the directory and
file name ...
