synaptics touchpad. reconnect not supported

Thank you for this suggestion, I managed to configure it now! and it
seems to work except the x11_options that are ignored (at least
circular scrolling and shmconfig).
Now the problem is how to deploy this file into distributions, since
not all touchpads are synaptics.
the line
input.product = 'SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad'
could be helpful to generate a <match> tag properly, but maybe other
lines could be present too...
Any ideas?
