i understand what you're saying and you're probably thinking that i'm
overracting to a single event.

it's not the case.

i've been managing the site for the last few years and i've been hitting
several of the limits of WP -- or, better, the limits of the (free as in
freedom) WP plugins -- for our site.
and i've been watching the frustration (legit or not) of several of the
users while working with the website.

we are using wordpress for things it's not made for and we're not using
it for the things it's made for.

that's frustrating for me and for the users.

i don't think that CF7 is enough.
its website it says that it's for simple contact forms... not really our
use case.
(from time to time, i have searched for alternatives to GF, but i never
could find a valid one...)

the big advantage of GF is that it has a very nice graphical interface
for putting together forms.
it allows to manage the entries and to export them as CSV.

but -- also because some new constraints on privacy -- GF is not enough
for us, either.
most of all for the matters concerning the API and the access rights.
we need a real form manager.

yes, those seem to be the horrible issues that i cant solve and have
been seen as terrifying by the users.

there are also been other issues in the past.

if you think WP should be used by the LGM, i think that the best is that
you submit a proposal telling the LGMers which needs it fulfills and why
we should choose it.

i'd really like to see and discuss a few proposal in leipzig.

ciao
